I have a few incredible friends, a fair few mates and some acquaintances in my life, some of which my mental health literally could not survive without!
But this Autism and Pathological Demand Avoidance journey has gifted me with new friends.
These friends, I have never met or even spoken to, these friends were friends to me before they even knew of my existence!
Some I have now exchanged messages with- mostly when I desperately needed help, advice or information about something, other friends I have only shared the occasional like/ share or comment on a social media post. But all of them are friends in my eyes, their posts and blogs make me feel a connection with them and help me to remember that we are not alone.
Many of them have shared helpful tips or information which has made our journey that wee bit smoother or they have written honestly about their own difficulties which reminds me that I am not a rubbish mum and it cant always go smoothly.
And thanks to these friends, I continually find more new friends in this community of SEND bloggers which is amazing!
So if you have stumbled across my ramblings at the start of your own journey then please share, comment, like and then take a look at the posts of others such as

PDA Bubble

And any others you come across as these bloggers have so much more knowledge and experience.
And of course The PDA Society
should be your first stop shop

I love this post so much, I feel exactly the same and describe these feelings to my family too. It’s strange but we all seem to get such a deep connection from supporting one another online, probably more than many other conditions as we have the added fury that people say PDA doesn’t exist. I sometimes feel sad that I’ve lost closeness with many friends/family that I had before, but now the gap has widened. xx
